Flutterwave Inc, the popular African fintech, has been in the news a lot lately. This week, it was reported by Bloomberg is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

The company is planning to use the funds to expand operations in its existing markets and enter new ones in Africa, according to their Chief Financial Officer Oneal Bhambani.

Earlier this year, Flutterwave raised a series D round of $250 million which valued the company at $3 billon.

Lately, the company has faced a lot of negative press including allegations of harassment and money laundering in the Kenyan market.

Flutterwave recently received a new payment license in Nigeria as it pushes towards its IPO.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens as Flutterwave tries to go public in the near future
