More and more African startups are raising money from venture capitalists. Some are raising enough to the point where they’re becoming unicorns (that is, they’re being evaluated at $1 billion or more).
While most startups raising from Silicon Valley, there are some local VCs who are putting their hand in the game. Lemonade Finance, a startup that allows Africans abroad to send and receive money from home, has raised $725,000 in pre-seed funding

Chipper Cash, an African cross-border payments company, has raised $150 million in a Series C extension round led by Sam Bankman-Fried’s cryptocurrency exchange platform FTX.
