Fast forward and Netflix just put out a report about its impact so far on the continent.

According to a report, the streaming company has invested over €160 million ($175 million) in film content production in Africa, creating over 12,000 jobs in South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria.

The company stated that its going ahead with local more content production in 2023 and beyond.

The company is currently in competition with Multichoice which has its own streaming outfit called Showmax.

One thing that DSTV/Multichoice has over Netflix is live sports. But Netflix has been testing out live components with its recent Chris Rock live show and the company will be testing more live events.
