Welcome To The Metaverse

Yesterday, Mark Zuckerberg officially announced that Facebook would be rebranding to “Meta”. The newly branded company, Meta, would be focusing on the “metaverse”.

Mark explained that the metaverse will feel like a hybrid of today’s online social experiences, sometimes expanded into three dimensions or projected into the physical world. It all felt very futuristic but considering that Mark Zuckerberg will be spending $10 billion this year to help create means that Meta is serious about this pivot.

But will it succeed? Or is Zuckerberg not seeing that this is not a great direction.

Only time will tell.

Autochek, the automotive technology company facilitating auto financing across Africa, has today secured $13.1 million in seed funding.

Norebase, a startup that recently, launched aims to help businesses who want to work in countries like Ghana and later want to scale to other African countries like Kenya and Nigeria.

Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank by assets, has partnered with Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, to enhance digital payments experiences for its customers in Africa

Female investors from different African countries would constitute the all-female investor panel for the 9th Angel Fair Africa (AFA) on 25th November 2021
